Thanks for the tip, really helpful.
However when I change the hardness of the brush using Alt+Shift+drag I don’t see what I’m doing. You got the big red blob that changes hardness as you drag but I see nothing like that. How do you make that show?

howard, i think i learned about the click-drag with the ctrl+opt and the ctrl+opt+cmd keys from chris orwig. Still, i have watched 100’s of videos and yours is the only other one to describe these shortcuts. i enjoy all your tutorials. please don’t stop.
